"Have Your Say!" leaflet launchedHealth Rights Information Scotland (HRIS) has launched a leaflet for young people entitled "Have Your Say!" The leaflet encourages young people to let the NHS know how they are being treated and explains how to make a complaint about the NHS if they feel they have been treated unfairly. It is the third in a series of leaflets that includes information about confidentiality and giving consent. More information is available from the Health Rights Information Scotland website.
The Scottish Consumer Council and Health Rights Information Scotland have been gathering views on the leaflets they produce for NHS patients. A report on this is expected shortly.
An independent Review of the Scottish Health Council is being undertaken by the Scottish Council Foundation and McCormick.McDowell. The Review will conclude by the end of 2008.

The Scottish Government introduced the Health Boards (Membership and Elections) (Scotland) Bill to the Scottish Parliament on 25th June 2008. The Bill’s stated aim is to improve public engagement and public involvement with Health Boards, by allowing for the election of Health Board members, on a pilot basis.
Building Strong Foundations is a resource to help people engage with the public and people who use health services.
The Scottish Health Council has commissioned Outside the Box to update the toolkit, and a working version is now available for you to try out on their website. Please try it out and then comment on what you want to see in the final version.
