Purpose: Greater Glasgow and Clyde office of the Scottish Health Council to host an Event to bring all of the Public Partnership Forums within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde together to develop and scope for learning and to share good practice.

Purpose: This is the second event hosted by the Scottish Health Council in the West of Scotland. The events have been organised to encourage the development of a regional network of people who have an interest in the Patient Focus and Public Involvement agenda. The first event held in March, featured presentations and participative workshops, and those attending came from a variety of organisations/departments from the statutory, voluntary and community sectors.

Purpose: This conference has been organised to facilitate discussion and share practice on patient, carer and community information. The event will include presentations, practically-driven workshops and poster displays and will enable participants to explore issues around patient information and to consider how patients and communities can be involved in the development of meaningful and responsive information.
This conference is supported by a number of key stakeholders including the Scottish Executive Health Department, the Patient Information Forum, Fair For All - Disability, Scottish Consumer Council, NHS Education eLibrary and NHS24.

Hearty Voices Scotland Conference - "Patients As Drivers of Change"
Date: Thursday 8th November 2007

Venue: Beardmore Hotel & Conference Centre, Clydebank
Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland has been running Hearty Voices sessions in partnership with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in Scotland for over a year. Hearty Voices supports patients and carers who want to influence change within the cardiac services of the NHS. This conference is being supported by the Scottish Health Council and is open to patients, carers and Health Professionals, willing to work together to improve the cardiac services across Scotland.
The Conference will:
· Promote resources available from Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland, British Heart Foundation & Scottish Health Council for achieving patient/carer involvement
· Address the barriers & challenges which affect meaningful patient/carer involvement
· Motivate patients & carers to make their voice heard
· Provide inspiration & encouragement, in the area of patient focus and public involvement
· Provide a networking opportunity for Health Professionals, Patients & Carers
