In a recent policy document, Better Health, Better Care: an Action Plan, the Scottish Government made a commitment to ensuring that patients, carers and the public have the information they need when they need it and that this information is clear, accurate, up-to-date and presented in a way which meets their needs. The conference launched the National Information and Support Service and allowed health professionals, patients, carers and the public to discuss and share practice on some key information issues:
