The Scottish Health Council has a remit to consider whether NHS Boards have adequately consulted their local populations in relation to significant NHS service change, in accordance with existing guidance.
We commissioned a report on Enhancing Public Involvement in Major NHS Service Change in February 2008, which aimed to identify effective methods for involving local communities in developing and appraising options for major service change.
