Participation Case Studies

Our database of case studies, which we call "Evolving Practice", contains real-life examples of how local services have been improved by involving patients, carers, service users and communities. It demonstrates how people can influence the design and delivery of services.

Case studies are welcome from across the NHS, local authorities, statutory agencies, voluntary organisations and community groups. Submissions should include reflective evaluation which demonstrates the meaningful involvement of patients, service users, carers and/or members of the public.

You can record and share your own experience of participation while learning from initiatives from around the country. Case studies are available to everyone without the need for a username and password. However, setting up a free account allows you to submit your own examples. All submissions to the site are moderated by the Scottish Health Council, and case studies are checked before publication to ensure they are appropriate, accurate and informative.
