Organisational Change

Since the inception of the Scottish Health Council in 2005, a number of changes have taken effect. This page lists key dates in the timeline.

Timeline

April 2011 NHS Quality Improvement Scotland becomes Link opens in a new windowHealthcare Improvement Scotland.

April 2010 The new staff structure and revised functions of the Scottish Health Council become effective.

Autumn 2009 - Spring 2010 The Action Plan is implemented in partnership with staff, NHS Quality Improvement Scotland and Trade Unions. New senior management positions are appointed.

July 2009 The Action Plan is approved by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing. The letter is available on the Link opens in a new windowScottish Government website.

Spring 2009 Following the independent review, and in consultation with key stakeholders, the Scottish Health Council develops its Action Plan: A form fit to functionPDF document

November 2008 The reports from the independent review are published:
Summer 2008 After three years, an independent review of the organisation is carried out in line with normal practice.
April 2005

The Scottish Health Council is established by the Scottish Executive.
